FESTIVAL SESC JAZZ

MINI DOC FOR THE FESTIVAL SESC JAZZ

Sesc Jazz is a multiplatform festival that focuses on an expanded understanding of jazz and its presence in contemporary music. In 2021, with concepts such as territory, tradition, memory, diversity and avant-garde as guiding principles, the third edition addresses the accents that the genre assumes in different places, its exchange with Brazilian music and its manifestations, in addition to its presence and influence in other cultural scenes.

From the 15th to the 31st of October, with more than 20 national shows, broadcast live from the Consolação, Pinheiros, Pompeia and Vila Mariana units, exhibitions of international shows, training actions, unprecedented audiovisual productions, film screenings and presentations from the Sesc São Paulo collection , the program marks the reunion between artists and live audience at Sesc theaters in São Paulo.

This collection features five mini-documentaries that tell the story of the festivals Língua Fora (SP), Novas Frequências (RJ), Quartas de Improviso (MG), CHIII – Festival de Música Criativa (SP) and POA Jazz Festival (RS). They all share the focus on improvisation, musical experimentation and the exploration of new sound languages.
