GIULIANO ROSAS

PERCORSO ENSEMBLE (BR/CL): GIULIANO ROSAS, ADRIANA HOLTS E RUBEN ZÚÑIGA
18.04 6pm

Founded in 2002, Percorso Ensemble is an independent core that gathers instrumentalists in São Paulo. Built from the desire of encourage the creation of new works and to promote repertories of the 20th and 21st centuries, seeking to enlarge the reach of live contemporary music with shows inspired by popular music and dialoging with other artistic languages such as dance, theater and movies.

“Improvisation have always been a parto f music history. A very common practice in the time of Beethoven for instance, but that got lost in the scope of classical music since the 20th century. Percorso Ensemble intends to revisit the art of improvistion but under a contemporary optics, the so called “free improvisation”. Improvisation non-based on the tonal system but on the timbres, dynamics and textures that the sounds of the clarinete, the cello and the percussion can offer. The repertoire of this concert contains as much written works with the improvisation as starting point (work of Agnes, Alvarez and Windmann) as free improvisations that are performed at the moment of the concert (work of Kagel in honor of Beethoven and the collective improvisation of Percoso Ensemble).”
